Hello All,
Welcome to my Project Purl blog. Please forgive me as I am VERY new to the whole idea of keeping a blog. My goal here is to write as often as time allows about the goings on in my new endeavor, Project Purl. Founded by myself just a short month ago we are a non-profit charity organization dedicated to keeping the homeless men, women and children of the Greater Manchester, NH area warm during the frigid winter months. We accept donations of hand knit/crochet items such as hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, and socks as well as other essential items. I then store these items in my home, as space can be very limited in the shelters, until the shelters are ready to distribute them.
Being a knitter myself, always with multiple projects going on at once, I had no homes for a good majority of my finished projects. I was also finding myself wanting to do something to be able to give back to the community and so I searched for a local organization that would accept hand knit items. Unable to find such an organization locally and with plenty of free time on my hands I decided that I would go ahead and start one of my own. And so Project Purl was born.

Sounds like a wonderful organization! Good job for seeing a need and moving ahead with it. :)
